What is IBD leadership coaching?

Let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another - and all the more as you see the Day approaching.” ~ Hebrews 10:24-25

It’s a familiar refrain. And it’s something we long to do for one another. But in the life of a leader, it can be hard to find someone to ‘spur’ you on. A leadership coach can help.

All too often, as the leader guiding change in a church, you’re busy supporting others in their work, but there’s no one focused on helping you anticipate your next steps.  A transitional ministry coach can help. That’s what I do at IBD leadership coaching.

I get it. I’ve been there! And, I’ve seen what a difference it can make, having a coach alongside me as I take risks, try new things, develop my skills, and grow in my gifting and call. Every transitional leader deserves a coach.

IBD leadership coaching helps transitional and interim pastors receive relational connection that spurs them forward. In my coaching work I help you put current reality into perspective.

FAQ’s

Why IBD coaching?

As a leader guiding change in the church it can be difficult to zoom out and gain a new perspective about what’s going on in you and in the life of the congregation you lead. Coaching can help take you from where you are to where you want to go.

What do we talk about in a coaching session?

You bring up issues or situations where you feel stuck or you find yourself losing hope. I serve as a sounding board and guide in discerning a way forward.

How long is a leadership coaching session?

Each session lasts 50-60 minutes. For best results, we meet 2 times a month.

What if I am not Presbyterian?

Most of my clients are from reformed traditions. But I enjoy serving in ecumenical settings.

What can I expect from IBD leadership coaching?

A trusted companion alongside you. A sounding board and mentor. Someone familiar with the joys and pitfalls of leading change in the church and the toll it takes on the leader. A spiritual friend.
