Pastor Shari, Thanks be to God for his gifting of you for his service and leading you to be with us at our church! I am so looking forward to your presence and guidance personally and corporately. I am excited for your partnership in your particular roles, together with session, to lead us in worship and service. I feel relief and joy, as well as sweet memories and also some pain as I consider aspects of the transition we are moving further into. Thank you for your decision to be with us for a time now, and in eternity!

It all started when…

I had just completed training to become certified as a transitional pastor.

Low, and behold, the many training resources promised to me, were simply not available.

So I began to curate my own collection of helpful things like liturgies, preaching series, interview questions, and the like. Friends began to ask me to share them. And thus was born a blog that has grown into this website.

make yourself at home…

You are welcome here. Borrow anything you like. Adapt it to your ministry setting. Leave comments. I love it when colleagues share ideas, write guest blog posts, and the like.

At its best, Interim By Design is a learning community for all who are drawn to serve the church in seasons of transitional and interim ministry.

ABOUT ME

Welcome!

I am an intentional interim pastor who delights in helping churches and organizations transition to new leadership. I feel a deep call to serve as a catalyst among colleagues in this field of ministry.

Interim By Design believes transitional ministry seasons are vital to church health and may be approached with hope and joy.  Together we are a learning community of people who lead the church during seasons of change.

I am currently designing a doctoral research project to learn about the practices that sustain vocational vitality in interim leaders. If you’d like to learn more about this research project please contact me.
